Sublimation
What exactly is sublimation?
In simple terms, it's a method of printing that transfers a design into a material or fabric using ink and heat.

How does it work?
While you need the proper equipment, sublimation is a fairly simple process:
-
You print a design onto special transfer paper using sublimation inks.
-
Then, you place the printed paper onto a product and heat it with a heat press.
-
The heat, pressure, and time turns the inks into a gas, and the material absorbs them.
-
As a result, you get a permanent, vibrant print that won’t fade or crack over time.
Benefits
Vibrant and Detailed Results
Print Durability - the ink becomes an integral part of the material and won't fade or wash off
Quick Turnaround Time - requires less time than screen printing
Variety of Products - metal signs, mousepads, mugs, etc.
Eco-Friendly - using dry ink infuses into the material resulting in minimal waste and reduce environmental impact.
Limitations
Materials - the dyes won't adhere to natural fibers
Base Colour - There is no white ink and the inks can't lighten the base colour

What can you print?
There are a variety of items that can be made like metal business cards, indoor and outdoor signs, and even photos can be printed directly onto the metal.
